The Comparison Trap

We all do it.....Compare.  We compare ourselves to our family, friends, spouses, neighbors, acquaintances, people we don't even know.  We get trapped in a downward spiral of labeling someone or something better than another.  We battle with wanting more because others do, for thinking less of ourselves because we believed our flaws outweigh our good.

I encourage you this week to take note of how many times you compare yourself to something or someone.  Notice, observe, and don't judge.  Then make it a point to replace the negative thought, emotion, feeling with something positive, gratifying and uplifting.  Instead of comparing the car you drive to one that your friend has, take a moment and give thanks for your vehicle.  Put an end to comparing your income level to a friend or family members, stop and be grateful for the money that you do have and the many blessings and freedoms that it allows you to have.

Always remember that a peaceful heart is one free from greed, envy, jealousy.
All things that stem from the "Comparison Trap".

A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.
Proverbs 14:30

May your life be a beautiful illustration of peace, love, gratitude and joy!
